Ordering guide \u2014 a stone worktop step by step<\/h1>

Ordering a stone worktop from us proceeds in six steps from quote to installation. We explain what happens at each step, what we need from you and what is included in the price \u2014 so that you know at all times where things stand.<\/p>

One point of contact from start to finish<\/h2>

There is no retailer in between with us. The same contact person who makes the quote also handles the measurement schedule, the drawings and the installation day. All information goes by email, so you have every agreed matter in writing. The slab is cut and machined at our own factory in Estonia, and the team that measures in Finland is the same one that installs. Below are the steps in the order in which they happen in practice. The six steps of an order<\/h2><\/div>

  1. 1. Quote<\/h3>

    Send the dimensions, a floor plan or a photo of the kitchen and your material wish. We make a written quote itemising the material, thickness, edge profile, cut-outs, transport and installation. We reply within 24 hours on working days.<\/p><\/li>

  2. 2. Approval by email<\/h3>

    When the quote suits you, you confirm it by replying to the email. At the same time we agree a provisional measurement time. Confirmation by email is enough \u2014 no separate contract document is needed, but it records the agreed matters on behalf of both parties.<\/p><\/li>

  3. 3. Advance invoice for special-order goods<\/h3>

    If the slab you have chosen is not among our stock materials but is ordered from the manufacturer, we send an advance invoice for the material. For the more than one hundred stone materials in stock this step is not needed, and we move straight on to the measurement.<\/p><\/li>

  4. 4. Measurement on site<\/h3>

    Our measurer measures the worktop with a laser on site. Before the measurement the cabinet carcasses must be fixed and levelled, and the models of the sink, tap and hob must be known \u2014 preferably on site or as dimension drawings.<\/p><\/li>

  5. 5. Approval of the drawings<\/h3>

    After the measurement you receive a drawing showing the dimensions, joints, openings, edge profiles and corner radii. Check it and approve by email. Production starts only on approval, and the delivery time is counted from it.<\/p><\/li>

  6. 6. Production, delivery and installation<\/h3>

    The slab is machined on a CNC machine at our own factory and brought to the site. The same team installs the worktop, seals the joints and cleans up after itself. Delivery and installation in Finland \u2014 14 working days from drawing approval.<\/p><\/li><\/ol><\/div><\/div><\/section>

    01<\/span>

    Stock material<\/h3>

    More than one hundred stone materials are in our stock, and for them production starts immediately on approval of the drawings. Delivery and installation in Finland \u2014 14 working days from drawing approval.<\/p><\/div>

    02<\/span>

    Special-order material<\/h3>

    A slab ordered from the manufacturer adds the material's delivery time, typically a few weeks. We give an exact estimate in the quote, and the measurement time is agreed according to the arrival of the slab.<\/p><\/div>

    03<\/span>

    Removal of the old worktop<\/h3>

    We remove the old worktop and take it away on the installation day, if so agreed. Priced separately in the quote. Removal may reveal the condition of the carcasses, so allow a moment for it.<\/p><\/div>

    04<\/span>

    Appliances and electrical work<\/h3>

    Installation of the hob, oven and dishwasher and the necessary electrical work are handled through certified partners, priced separately. Tell us the need already at the quote stage.<\/p><\/div>

    05<\/span>

    Plumbing<\/h3>

    We can arrange the connection of the sink, tap and drain through a partner for the same day. Priced separately. Without this service, your own plumber makes the connection after the installation.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

    Frequently asked questions<\/h2><\/div>
    How is payment made?<\/summary>

    For stock material the invoice is sent after installation according to the agreed payment term. For special-order material we send an advance invoice before ordering from the manufacturer, and the balance is invoiced after installation. For business customers we agree invoicing project by project. You always see the exact terms in the quote before approval.<\/p><\/details>

    Can I change the order after approval?<\/summary>

    Changes to the material, profile and cut-outs are possible up to the approval of the drawings at no extra cost. After that the slab is being machined, and a change means a new slab or new machining, which we price separately. That is why we ask you to check the drawing carefully before approval.<\/p><\/details>

    What if the carcasses are not ready on the measurement day?<\/summary>

    Then we postpone the measurement. The laser measurement is done from the final carcasses, because even a millimetre's deviation shows in the worktop. If the measurement is done in the middle of installation and the carcasses move, the worktop will not fit, and our warranty does not cover fitting problems resulting from this. Let us know about the postponement as early as possible and we will find a new time quickly.<\/p><\/details>

    From when is the delivery time counted?<\/summary>

    The ten working days are counted from the measurement and the approval of the drawings. If the approval is delayed, the schedule shifts accordingly. For special-order material the time is counted from the arrival of the slab at our factory. We agree the installation day with you already at the drawing stage, so that you can arrange the plumber and other work for the same week.<\/p><\/details>

    What do I do if I notice a defect after installation?<\/summary>

    Contact your contact person by email and attach a photo. We handle the complaint quickly, and our warranty covers measurement, transport and installation when we carry them out.
