The brushed finish gives Calce Nero a matte-like feel: the black tone does not reflect light but calms the kitchen's look and masks fingerprints better than a polished alternative.

The ceramic slab withstands hot pots, scratches and UV light and needs no sealing. The 1620 x 3240 mm slab size covers even a long island, and the same slab is available for wall surfaces too. Thickness options are 12 mm and 20 mm.

We do the cutting and openings at our own factory in Estonia. The material carries a 25-year warranty, and the worktop is intended for indoor use.

The final sum depends on the worktop's size, chosen thickness, edge finishing and how many openings are machined into the slab. Fabricating ceramic calls for specialised cutting tools, which shows in the labour share too. We measure the site and record every work stage in the quote, so there are no surprises. Does Calce Nero also suit a bathroom?

It does. The slab is for indoor use: kitchen worktop, bathroom vanity top, wall cladding and windowsill. Ceramic does not absorb moisture, so it is a natural choice for a wet room, and the thinner 12 mm slab gives a wall a light, seamless look.

Does the brushed black surface need special cleaning?

Day to day, a damp cloth and a mild all-purpose cleaner are enough. The brushed surface has a fine texture, so limescale splashes are best wiped dry so no pale film is left on the black surface. No sealing is needed and abrasive powders are not recommended.

When can the worktop be installed?

Delivery and installation in Finland — 14 working days from drawing approval. We book the measuring visit once the kitchen carcasses are assembled, and the installation date is reserved already at that visit. The installation work may qualify for the Finnish household deduction; we itemise the labour share on the invoice and advise checking the terms at vero.fi.
