A timeless classic

Marble worktops — marble worktop for the kitchen and bathroom

The veining of real marble runs through the whole slab, and the honed surface has a depth that a printed pattern cannot reach. We tell you straight what the stone asks in return — and where it serves most beautifully. Made-to-measure marble worktops from 240 € / m² from our own factory.

Veining through the stone

The pattern continues through the full depth of the slab — the edges look genuine from every angle.

A surface that can be re-honed

A dulled spot is honed and polished again — with composite this is not possible.

A baker’s cool worktop

The cool stone surface keeps dough workable — a favourite of pastry chefs for centuries.

We talk openly about patina

We go through care and patina before you buy — and suggest another material if needed.

Genuine marble

The value of marble lies in what makes it demanding

In Carrara the light grey base and soft, scattered veining make the stone easy to combine; Calacatta is whiter, with thicker and sparser veins, while Nero Marquina is deep black with sharp white lines. The slabs are always viewed whole, because the veining decides the result: the cutting lines are marked so that the most striking vein lands on the island top, and on large surfaces a book-matched pattern is fitted where needed, with the veins of adjacent slabs mirroring each other. We have collected background information in the article marble worktop for the kitchen.

In return for its beauty, marble asks for care: the lime-based stone reacts to acids, so lemon and wine can leave a dull mark on a polished surface. That is why we recommend a honed, i.e. matt, surface for kitchens, into which any patina blends unnoticed. Marble is at its most natural as a bathroom vanity top, an island top, a baking surface and around a fireplace. If, on the other hand, carefreeness comes before authenticity, we show you ceramic marble imitations alongside — you will find the comparison in the guide choose the right worktop.

Properties of a marble worktop

A living look

Every slab is unique: the density, colour and course of the veins vary. Alongside the classic whites and blacks, the range includes green marbles and serpentines, which often have the most durable surface of all marbles.

The choice of surface is decisive

A polished surface emphasises colour but reveals acid marks; a honed matt surface is already dull, so signs of use blend into it. For kitchens and vanity tops we recommend honed.

Care is a routine

Sealing at installation and renewing it regularly, a pH-neutral detergent and wiping up spills immediately — three habits that keep marble beautiful for decades.

Best applications

Bathroom vanity top, island top, baking station, fireplace surround and window sills. We do not recommend marble outdoors in the Finnish climate — there we point you to granite.

Frequently asked questions

What makes up the price of a marble worktop?

The price depends on the type of stone and its availability, the slab thickness, the worktop dimensions, the edge profile and the installation workload. Common marbles such as Carrara are more moderately priced than Calacatta and rare names, and a hand-finished profile, an undermounted sink and pattern matching at the joints add working hours. More on the subject on the page stone worktop prices.

How do you care for a marble worktop in everyday use?

Wipe up spills immediately — especially lemon, wine and vinegar — and use a pH-neutral detergent. Sealing is done at installation and renewed regularly; it slows absorption but does not remove the dulling effect of acid. A dulled spot can always be honed and polished again. You will find the instructions on the page care and cleaning.

How long does delivery of a marble worktop take?

Delivery and installation in Finland — 14 working days from drawing approval. The cutting lines are fitted to the veining, the edges are finished by hand and the surface is sealed at the factory before transport. If the rare marble you want is not in stock, we tell you its delivery time separately before you order.

Marble or quartz with a marble pattern?

In real marble the veining continues through the stone and the surface can be re-honed, but the stone needs sealing and care with acids. The marble pattern of quartz is printed and the surface non-porous — more carefree, but without the depth and repairability of real stone. Weigh up your needs in the guide choose the right worktop.

Is a marble worktop suitable for the kitchen?

Yes, if you accept a living surface: a honed finish, regular sealing and the habit of wiping up spills immediately are enough to keep the worktop beautiful. Some of our customers value precisely the patina that develops with use, some do not — which is why we go through it honestly at the measuring visit.
