Here we have gathered the questions we are asked most often by phone and email: materials, price, measurement and installation, care, warranty and business collaboration. If you cannot find the answer, ask us directly — we reply within 24 hours on working days.
For most families we recommend quartz or ceramic. Quartz is dense, needs no sealing and withstands everyday stains; ceramic additionally withstands heat and scratches better, but is thinner and requires more precise installation. Granite is a good option if you want genuine stone and accept sealing every few years. Comparison: our blog.
Yes, but with your eyes open. Marble is a limestone that reacts to acids: lemon, wine and vinegar leave a dull mark if left on the surface. It suits a kitchen where patina is appreciated and people are prepared to wipe up straight away. In the bathroom and on table tops marble is a more carefree choice. See Marble.
Ceramic is usually 12 mm and is often installed with a glued edge, giving a thicker appearance. Quartz and granite are 20 or 30 mm: 20 mm is lighter and more affordable, 30 mm feels more massive and withstands larger overhangs on islands. Edge profiles and thicknesses: Choose the right worktop.
Yes. At our showrooms in Tallinn (Vesilennuki 20) and Stockholm (Ekgårdsvägen 2) you can see whole slabs. We have more than 100 stone materials in stock, so we can often show you the very slab your worktop will be cut from. Help with choosing: Request a quote.
The price is affected by the material and its thickness, the area and shape of the worktop, the edge profile, the number of cut-outs (sink, hob, tap), the sink fixing method, and transport and installation. Removal of the old worktop, appliance connections and electrical and plumbing work are priced separately. In our quote these are itemised line by line, so you know what you are paying for.
Because there is no retailer in between. The slab is cut and machined at our own factory in Estonia, and the same team measures and installs in Finland. When there is one sales margin instead of two, the price is often lower for the same material and work. If you already have a quote from elsewhere, send it to us for comparison: Request a quote.
The preliminary quote is based on the dimensions or drawing you provide. After the measurement we confirm the final price — it changes only if the actual dimensions or cut-outs differ from the initial data. We always tell you about a change before production starts, and you can still withdraw. The ordering process step by step: Ordering.
Delivery and installation in Finland — 14 working days from drawing approval. The measurement is agreed once the carcasses are in place and levelled. After that we draw the worktop, you approve the drawing by email, the slab is machined at our factory and the installation team brings it into place. For special-order materials the delivery time may be longer, which we tell you in the quote.
Carcasses fixed and levelled, walls finished in the condition they will remain in, and the sink, tap and hob known — preferably on site or at least as model numbers. If any of these is missing, it is worth postponing the measurement: a laser-measured worktop is made to the millimetre and cannot be enlarged afterwards. See Measuring and installation.
The same team of ours that came to measure. An ordinary kitchen worktop is installed in a few hours: the slabs are lifted into place, the joints sealed, the sink fixed and siliconed against the wall. Larger islands and many parts take a day. We protect the floors and take the packaging waste with us.
You can, for example for a house-building site or a furniture retailer. Then we are responsible for the dimensions and machining of the slab according to the drawing, but not for the outcome of the installation. We still recommend the whole chain from us: it is the only way our warranty also covers the measurement and installation. Terms: Warranty.
Wipe with a pH-neutral detergent and a soft cloth, use a trivet under hot items and a chopping board under the knife. Granite and marble are sealed according to the instructions every few years; quartz and ceramic need no sealing. Avoid scouring powders and strong solvents. More detailed instructions by material: Maintenance and cleaning.
Measurement, transport and installation when we carry them out, and manufacturing defects in the slab from our own factory. The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use — impacts, chemical etching or heat damage — or the natural colour variation of natural stone. The condition is that the stone surface is maintained according to our instructions. Full page: Warranty.
Often, yes. Small chips on the edge are filled with tinted resin and ground; a dull patch on polished granite can be re-polished. Deep scratches in quartz and ceramic are more difficult, but we always look at the photos first to see what can be done. Send photos to sales@stoneks.com and we assess.
Yes, it is a big part of our business in Finland, Sweden and Estonia. A business customer gets one contact person, standard details and technical drawings, series production on CNC and installation according to the site schedule. Invoicing and project pricing are agreed in the contract. Read more: For business customers.
We can — that is exactly where CNC production is at its best. Once the details have been approved, every worktop is machined with the same programme, so the dimensions and edges are identical from one apartment to the next. For housing companies and apartment-block projects we also offer a staggered measurement and installation schedule.
Yes. The same factory produces stone table tops for restaurants and offices, stone stairs, windowsills and splashbacks. The material range is the same as for kitchen worktops. See Stone table tops, Stone stairs, Stone windowsills and Splashbacks — or tell us about the project and we suggest a suitable solution.
We reply within 24 hours on working days. Send the drawings or a bill of quantities to sales@stoneks.com and tell us the schedule of the project, and we make a project quote and suggest delivery batches. For larger projects we are happy to visit the site before quoting.
