Nuovo Corso — Italian design in sintered ceramic
Nuovo Corso slabs are produced in Italy using the same sintering principle that defines modern premium ceramics: refined mineral raw materials are pressed and fired at extreme temperature until they vitrify into a dense, non-absorbent sheet. What distinguishes the line is its drawing — veining and shading composed with restraint, so the finished worktop reads as understated natural stone rather than a printed imitation.
The collection concentrates on the looks Finnish kitchens ask for most: soft Calacatta-style whites, warmer cream marbles, and deeper dramatic surfaces for islands that anchor a room. Matt and polished finishes are available depending on the design, and the pattern’s UV stability means it looks the same beside a bright window in year ten as it did on installation day.

Care and cleaning
Keep it simple: warm water, a drop of washing-up liquid and a soft cloth handle daily cleaning. For dried spills, use a non-abrasive ceramic cleaner. There is nothing to seal, oil or re-polish, and ordinary household acids — citrus, vinegar, cleaning sprays — leave no mark on the vitrified surface.
Protect unsupported edges from heavy impact, as with any hard surface material, and prefer a cutting board — not for the slab’s sake but for your knives. Beyond that, a Nuovo Corso top has no maintenance calendar at all, which is much of its appeal in a busy household.

Frequently asked questions
How does Nuovo Corso compare with other ceramic brands?
Technically it belongs to the same sintered-ceramic family as the other Italian slabs we carry, with equivalent heat, stain and scratch performance. The choice usually comes down to design: which veining, tone and finish best suits your cabinets and lighting.
Is the material suitable for a kitchen island?
Yes — islands are where these slabs shine. Large formats keep the top seamless, mitred edges give the slab visual weight, and the non-porous surface handles the reality of an island: cooking, homework, dinner guests and everything in between.
Will the pattern wear off over time?
No. The decoration is fired into the ceramic during production, not applied afterwards, so daily cleaning and use do not thin or dull it. The surface is also UV-stable, keeping its tone even in strongly sunlit rooms.
Can I see the slabs before deciding?
We recommend it. Ceramic designs vary in character between photographs and reality, so visit our showroom to view the designs in natural light before you decide.
