The slab is machined at our own factory

A quartz worktop is made by us in one unbroken chain. Our measurer visits your home in Finland, measures the cabinet carcasses with a laser and marks the positions of the sink, tap and hob. The dimensions go straight to the CNC machine at our factory in Tallinn, where the slab is cut, cut out and profiled. The same team brings the worktop to Finland and installs it. Because measuring, machining and installation are all in-house, nobody has to interpret someone else’s drawings and no retailer’s margin is added to the price.

Our range includes Silestone, Caesarstone, Technistone and Avant Quartz as well as terrazzo-look slabs. We hold 100+ stone materials in stock, so you can compare shades as full slabs rather than just as samples. After more than 13,000 projects we know which details matter: the positions of the joints, the undermounting of the sink, the distance from the hob to the edge and the support structures for overhangs. These are decided at the measurement, not on installation day.

Which quartz is right for you?

Quartz composite shades fall roughly into three groups. Light calacatta-type patterns give the look of marble without the upkeep of marble; Silestone’s Ethereal and Le Chic series and Caesarstone’s Supernatural are the most requested in this group. Plain greys and blacks pair well with light cabinet doors and hide the marks of daily life well — Technistone’s Noble and Elegance and Silestone’s Loft concrete shades are typical choices. Terrazzo and the shimmering surfaces of Technistone’s Starlight series work when the worktop is allowed to be the eye-catcher of the kitchen.

A matt surface shows fingerprints and grease more readily than a polished one, but hides small scratches. A polished surface is easier to wipe, but reflects light and shows dust. We compare both with samples in the right light at the measurement. With a patterned slab we also look at where the joint falls and whether the veining continues down the side of the island.

Quartz in the kitchen, bathroom and elsewhere

The most common use is the kitchen worktop and island, often with a splashback made from the same slab — then the pattern and shade match the worktop. In the bathroom, quartz works as a vanity top because the surface does not absorb water or cosmetics. Utility rooms, bar tops and window seats can be made from the same material. What makes up the price of a quartz worktop?

The price is built from the slab series and thickness, the square metres of the worktop, the edge profile, the number of cut-outs and the amount of installation work. Strongly patterned calacatta series cost more than plain colours, and an L-shaped worktop requires joint planning and more machine time than a straight one. We give a fixed quote after the measurement, when we know the square metres, joints and cut-outs exactly. Ordered directly from our factory, the whole package is typically 20–40 % cheaper than through a retailer.

Care and durability in everyday life

Quartz does not need sealing. Wipe the surface with a mild detergent and water; avoid scouring powders and strong solvents, which can dull the shine. Hot pots and pans go on a trivet, as sudden heat can leave a mark in the binder. A chopping board protects both your knives and the surface. Dried-on stains usually come off with a soft sponge. How soon will the quartz worktop be in place?

Delivery and installation in Finland — 10 working days from measurement. We agree the installation date at the measurement and tell you what needs to be ready on site: carcasses level, sink and tap on hand, old worktop removed or its removal ordered from us as a separately priced service.

Can I claim the household deduction for a quartz worktop?

You can claim the kotitalousvähennys (household deduction) for the installation work. We itemise the labour share as a separate line on the invoice, and you claim the deduction yourself in OmaVero. Material and transport are not covered by the deduction. Check the current terms and maximum amounts on vero.fi before ordering.

Will a quartz worktop stand up to daily kitchen life?

Yes. The dense surface does not absorb red wine, coffee or oil, and scratching is rare in normal cooking. The most sensitive point is heat: the binder cannot take the heat of a hot pan set straight down on it. Otherwise the worktop lasts for decades without special care, as long as you wipe up spills in time.

Quartz or granite?

Quartz is carefree and uniform in colour; granite is natural stone that handles heat better but needs sealing. If you want a lively pattern and a hot pan straight on the surface, choose granite. If you value easy care and a light shade, choose quartz. We go through the difference with samples at the measurement.

Minimal maintenance

As you have probably already realised, there are many advantages to a quartz worktop. Perhaps one of the main advantages is how easy it is to maintain. That said, it is still important to take care of your quartz worktop, as it can significantly extend its service life.

As worktops are the most exposed part of the kitchen, it’s important to take extra care of them. The quartz does not absorb liquid, so you do not need to impregnate it.

Stains caused by stronger products are easily removed with a pH-neutral detergent scrubbed into the stain with a sponge. Then wash with water and a microfibre cloth.
