The millimetres are settled at the factory

We measure the site in Finland with a laser and transfer the dimensions straight to the CNC machine at our factory in Tallinn. That way the sink opening, tap hole and hob recess land in place without adjustment on installation day. Technistone is quartz composite that machines cleanly even into demanding shapes: bevelled and rounded edges, undermounted sinks, curved islands and long continuous worktops. At the measurement we check the straightness of the walls and the levelling of the cabinet carcasses, because a precisely dimensioned slab exposes a crooked wall mercilessly — if necessary we plan a small overhang or an upstand at the back edge. After machining we check the dimensions, edges and surface of every slab before loading. The same team measures and installs, and one responsible person keeps the schedule together from measurement to installation. We hold 100+ stone materials in stock, so Technistone can be compared side by side with other quartz and ceramic series.

Which Technistone is right for you?

Technistone’s series divide clearly. The Noble series is a collection of light, marble-like surfaces — Calacatta- and Carrara-type veining that works in a light kitchen and on a large island. The surface of the Starlight series contains fine mirror particles that sparkle in the light; it is a common choice for a black or dark grey worktop that needs depth. Elegance is uniform, fine-grained basic shades from white to grey and black; it is the most carefree in terms of joints and pattern direction. The Crystal series is pure single-colour surface where the quartz crystal shows through — bright white and soft beiges belong here. The Taurus series brings a coarser, stone-like structure and terrazzo-like flecks. A glossy surface accentuates depth and is the easiest to care for; matt is calmer but shows grease more readily. We look at samples on site in your own light before ordering.

Technistone in the kitchen, bathroom and elsewhere

The kitchen worktop, island and a splashback from the same slab are the most common uses. An undermounted sink turns out neatly with Technistone, because the edge of the opening polishes evenly. On a bathroom vanity top the dense surface does not absorb water or cosmetics, and tap holes are drilled at the factory to the measurements. Utility rooms, windowsills and table tops are also common uses. For covered outdoor areas or direct sunlight we recommend sintered stone, because the shade of quartz composite can change over time in UV light. All sites are measured and installed by the same team.

Technistone compared with other stone worktops

What makes up the price of a Technistone worktop?

The series, thickness, square metres and shape of the worktop, the type of edge profile, the number of cut-outs and the installation work. A complex shape and an undermounted sink add more machining time than the square metres alone; veined Noble shades cost more than Elegance basic shades. You get a fixed price after the measurement, once the square metres and joints are known. When the slab comes from our own factory, the whole package is typically 20–40 % cheaper than through a retailer. Removal, appliance and electrical connections and plumbing are priced separately.

Care and durability in everyday life

Technistone cleans with water and a mild detergent, and sealing is never done. The dense surface does not absorb coffee, wine or oil, and it tolerates scratches well in daily cooking. Hot cookware goes on a trivet, because the composite’s binder cannot take prolonged direct heat. Strong solvents, oven cleaners and scouring powders are not used. When is a Technistone worktop installed?

Delivery and installation in Finland — 10 working days from measurement. The installation date is agreed at the measurement, and if required, removal of the old worktop and appliance connections are handled on the same visit as separately priced services. We tell you in advance what needs to be ready on site: carcasses fixed and levelled, sink and hob known.

Can I claim the household deduction for installing a Technistone worktop?

You can claim the kotitalousvähennys (household deduction) for the installation work. We itemise the labour share as a separate line on the invoice, and you claim the deduction yourself in OmaVero. The deduction does not cover material or transport; it is worth checking the current terms on vero.fi before ordering.

Why does Technistone suit demanding shapes?

Quartz composite is uniform right through the slab, so a bevel, a rounding and the edge of an undermounted sink polish to the same shade as the surface. In natural stone, veins and crystals can chip in a thin edge; in ceramic, the thin slab limits the edge options. That is why we often use Technistone in projects with curves, narrow bridges or a built-up edge.

Technistone or Silestone — what is the difference in practice?

Both are quartz composite and behave the same way in everyday life. The difference is in the collections and shades: Silestone has a wider range of colours and matt finishes, Technistone’s strength is uniform basic shades and good machinability for details.
